Join a group of passionate, like-minded students and learn firsthand about the expectations, challenges, and rewards of pursuing a degree in fashion. Over the course of the program, you'll complete 40 hours of college-level fashion courses, all instructed by industry leaders in the field and enriched through visits to various fashion-related museums and tours. The Precollege Program serves as your launchpad into the fashion industry, providing a valuable head start in planning for a successful future in fashion

Florence is the heart of the Renaissance and a true outdoor museum. The iconic city is the perfect sized, safe and secure town with many students choosing the city for their experiences abroad. The city center is small enough to be easily traversed on foot yet packed with museums, art and culture. Students will have the opportunity to explore the city during organized activities. 

The program’s immersive experience has an intense schedule, packed with fashion, culture and art. Students will wake and have breakfast at the hotel, then gather with classmates and the resident advisor to walk to campus together. A typical class will last 2-3 hours with a break halfway through to grab water or a snack at the cafes near campus. Some days there will be class in the morning and afternoon, some days there will be class in the morning and a museum visit or activity in the afternoon. After some down time at the hotel, students will have dinner either at the hotel where dinner is served between 7:30pm and 10:00pm or gather to go together to dine at a local restaurant. 

The Resident Advisor will remain at the accommodation for the duration of the program to guide students through activities and classes during the day as well as organize activities in the afternoons and evenings. In addition to a resident advisor, the group will also be accompanied by a Program Director. Together, the two program chaperones will be available 24/7 for anything students or parents may need including emergencies, supervision and guidance. The Fashions of Florence program is fully chaperoned at all times. A curfew is in place from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM, during which all students must remain in their rooms. While we want students to enjoy their time in Florence, safety is our top priority. These guidelines ensure a secure, respectful, and enriching experience for everyone.

Housed in a Renaissance villa on the banks of the Arno river, Polimoda is one of the top fashion schools in the world. The school welcomes professors and lecturers directly from the fashion industry and offers experience-based learning through contact with industry leaders and a dynamic curriculum. Students will have access to the campus library, study rooms and wifi at the school.

Students will have 40 non-credit hours of courses in Fashion Systems: Design and Business with classes in Fashion Sustainability, Intro to Fashion Design and Business, Building a Fashion Portfolio and more. Coursework takes a hands-on approach with practical experience including a class at Manifattura Tabacchi, the school’s cutting edge fashion design campus and culminating in a final project presented at the end of the program. In addition to coursework, the program will expose students to the fashion industry through workshops and museums. At the end of the program students will have a clear overview of the fashion industry and an idea of how to begin their journey in fashion.

Social Hub Lavagnini is a self-contained accommodation and entertainment complex that has an in-house restaurant, music room, pool table, ping pong tables, rooftop pool, world-class gym, free wifi and study spaces. Students will stay in modern air-conditioned single rooms. The hotel has many indoor and outdoor spaces to indulge in everything from a quiet reading nook to a movie night. The hotel often organizes special activities and events like concerts and food festivals. Students will have plenty of space and activities to enjoy during the evenings. Please note that students will have organized and chaperoned free time outside of the hotel and will not be allowed to leave the hotel alone. Curfew room checks will be carried out by the resident assistant.

• Sunday, June 20, 2027
• Students will arrive at the Florence Airport (FLR) on arrival day, where they will meet their resident advisor and be transferred to the hotel. After settling in, you’ll join the group for a group walk through Florence that will take you to iconic sites like the Duomo, a magnificent Gothic cathedral with a Renaissance dome, and Piazza della Signoria, home to a replica of Michelangelo's David. The day concludes with a welcome dinner at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel.

• You'll start the day with breakfast before departing for your first day of school. While Florence is very walkable and you'll usually travel on foot, transportation tickets will be provided when needed. After a program orientation at the school, you'll attend your first class, followed by a visit to Piazza Michelangelo for breathtaking views of the city.

• After breakfast, you'll take a guided tour of the exhibit at the Gucci Garden and Museum, immersing yourself in the brand's rich history and iconic designs. Later, you'll return for class.

• After breakfast, you'll participate in a leather accessory-making workshop, where you'll craft a personalized item to take home.

• After breakfast, you'll have a visit to Palazzo Pitti, the grand Renaissance palace of the Medici family. During your visit, you’ll explore the Costume Museum, which houses over 6,000 pieces of historical fashion and accessories, spanning from the 16th century to the present.
• Monday, June 28, 2027
• After breakfast, you'll attend class, followed by a visit to the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum, where you'll explore the designer's significant contributions to shoe design and international fashion. The museum features a rich collection of photographs, patents, sketches, magazines, and over 10,000 designs created by Ferragamo, along with wooden shoe lasts from famous clients.

• After breakfast, you'll attend class before embarking on an artisan tour of Florence's boutiques, where you'll have the opportunity to meet local artisans and learn about their craft, gaining insight into the city's rich tradition of handmade goods.
• Wednesday, June 30, 2027
• After breakfast, you'll attend class, followed by a hands-on fashion lab at the renowned Manifattura Tabacchi, where you'll dive deeper into the world of fashion design and creation.
• Thursday, July 1, 2027
• After breakfast, you'll present your final project, showcasing the culmination of your work and creativity throughout the program.
• Friday, July 2, 2027
• After breakfast, you'll head to the airport to catch your return flight home, marking the end of your experience.
