Share the Stage with Professionals

Led by acclaimed conductor Christy Elsner, the City of Fountains Treble Choir Festival welcomes treble choirs from all corners of the US. Ensembles taking part in this festival will debut a composition by the esteemed Dr. Andrea Ramsey, specially commissioned for this event. Alongside this unique premiere, choirs will receive an individual clinic from Elsner and the directors of the Allegro Choirs of Kansas City, as well as the opportunity to perform alone in the concert.

Allegro's mission is to enrich the lives of Kansas City students through outstanding choral education and

With a contagious laughter that resonates through her teaching, Christy Elsner is known for her adventurous and unconventional teaching methods. Her unwavering belief in raising the bar of excellence extends beyond music, urging Allegro singers to pursue greatness in all aspects of their lives. Christy's active role as a clinician for children's, youth, and treble choirs involves workshops on innovative rehearsing, and she is honored to conduct state, regional, and national honor choirs.

Dr. Andrea Ramsey enjoys an international presence as a composer, conductor, scholar and music educator. Before leaping into full time composing and guest conducting, Andrea held positions at The Ohio State University and the University of Colorado Boulder, respectively. An award-winning composer with over 150 works to date, she believes strongly in the creation of new music. A native of Arkansas, Andrea has experienced in her own life the power of music to provide a sense of community, better understanding of our humanity and rich opportunities for self-discovery.

Sample Itinerary

Day One

Welcome to Kansas City!

Today all participating treble choirs will join together for their first mass rehearsal in preparation for the choral festival.

Afterwards groups will enjoy a BBQ dinner.

Day Two

Following breakfast, choirs will have a mass rehearsal, followed by individual clinics from the staff of the Allegro Choirs of KC. 

The afternoon will be open for sightseeing and activities.

This evening will include an additional mass rehearsal.

Groups will have dinner in Country Club Plaza and then free time to explore.

Day Three

Your day will begin with individual choir performances in area churches for groups who are interested. 

In the afternoon your group will have it's final mass rehearsal.
This evening you'll perform in the City of Fountains Treble Choir Festival concert!
